A Picture Of Me, At What I Do Best!
This picture was taken at one of my certification births. This particular birth was very memorable because we all worked very long (26hrs) and hard to achieve this ultimate gift of new life. The one aspect of birth, is that it is very unpredictable. No matter how throughly you plan it, sometimes things don't always fall into place. At this birth we did everything imaginable to have a natural outcome. Unfortunately despite all we did, this baby failed to progress and went into fetal distress. A Cesarean Section was the only answer for the benefit of both mother and baby. The end result was the same, a happy, healthy newborn in a family that loved her.
